What Is Actually Washable in a Dog Bed?
Share
The Royal Bed can be taken apart for care. Its cover, cushioning layers and optional waterproof liner do not all have the same washing method.

First, find the part that needs care
An early account from ANBERSO's Japanese office describes unzipping a Royal Bed and washing its separate parts. The useful lesson is simple: identify the part that is soiled before choosing a washing method.
The outer cover is the fabric you see. Beneath it, the Royal Bed base has a quilted encasement and separate cushioning layers. A bolster cover also has cushion pieces. The waterproof liner is an optional layer sold separately from the currently listed Royal Bed Complete Sets. Check your product page and each care label for the parts you own.
What goes where?
Outer cover and bolster cushion pieces. Protect the fasteners and place the fabric pieces in a laundry bag. Use a gentle or hand-wash cycle only where the specific fabric's care label permits it. Air-dry in a shaded, ventilated place; do not tumble dry.
Quilted cover around the bed core. Unzip it and remove the inner cushions. Fold the quilted cover into a laundry bag, wash on a delicate or hand-wash cycle, and air-dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry.
Upper yellow cushion. Put this cushion in its own laundry bag. Use a delicate or hand-wash cycle, rinse thoroughly, spin gently, and air-dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry.
Transparent 3D Air Fiber middle and lower layers. Rinse these by hand in a shower or bathtub with cold or lukewarm water no hotter than 40°C / 104°F. Shake off excess water and air-dry in a shaded, ventilated place. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. For these layers, “washable” means hand-washable.
Waterproof liner. This is a separately sold product with its own care instructions. Follow the label on the liner you purchase; do not assume it has the same washing method as the outer cover.
Use a neutral detergent as directed in the Royal Bed Care Instructions, and let each part dry fully before reassembly. Drying time varies with the part and the conditions in your home.
After a spill
Remove the outer cover and inspect the layers beneath it. A fitted waterproof liner may help keep liquid from reaching the bed base, but check the actual layers rather than assuming the core stayed dry. Wash each soiled part by its own method.
For a visual example of checking beneath a cover after a spill, watch the short ANBERSO Waterproof Cover III demonstration (Japanese video). It shows water poured onto a cover, then the cover lifted for inspection. This is a Japanese-market cover; follow the fit and care instructions for the waterproof liner sold in your region.
